Just got back from the movies. I watched The Ring Two with Eric, Danny, and Danny's sister. I think her name is Michelle... I'm not sure. Yesterday, after Eric signed off, he and his friend, Jeff, went to one of Jeff's friend's house. Eric doesn't know this guy that well, but has seen him around. This guy's parents is out of town so there was a party going on. This guy's older sister dropped by to their house (she doesn't live with her parents anymore) for awhile and she too as well got drunk. Eric says he wasn't really paying attention to her and he fell asleep soon after... around 4am. When he woke up at 8am, four people were crying. They were the guy and his three siblings, crying because their older sister had died. She had fallen asleep at the wheel on the freeway. That's pretty scary.

After I had sent Danny and Danny's sister home, I talked to Eric about the whole thing. He's really worried about that friend. He says that he's pretty sure he's been drinking all day because they're all gonna be in deep shit when their parents come home. Then Eric brought up the fact that they would actually have to go down there to the morgue or whatever and identify the body. Thinking about that, really made me wanna cry. I almost did, but luckily, I didn't.

We later talked about the stars. I learned a lot about it today. I learned about planets and everything else within the universe. Did you know it takes about 8 minutes for the light from the sun to travel to us? Now if that's true, then think of the other stars. They are billions and billions of miles away... a thousand times farther than the distance between Earth and the sun. So then, when we look at the stars, we're technically looking at the past. Maybe... a day or two? A year? 10 years? It's possible because the stars are so far away! Looking at the stars, technically, you're looking at the past. And the sun... our sun has lived about half its life now. Our sun is not that big compared to the other stars out there. And those stars... they have planets that revolve around them. And moons that revolve around planets. If there's more than one solar system... and galaxies... why not the universe? And if we have that... what's beyond that? And after that? And I'm sure there's more than one of those. It never really ends... it's crazy and it's creepy. Do you realize how insignificant we all are?

And you know, one day our entire human race will be wiped out, just like the dinosaurs. Maybe a comet will hit us one day. We'll all die, the end, but one way or another, we'll be gone, that's for sure. That's crazy. It's creepy and crazy.

Oh, The Ring Two was alright. The first movie was scarier, that's for sure.
